Ellery, 7J, 10S, heavy 18K gold original HC with polychrome enameling of a bird to front, floral detail to rear, scalloped band, mock crown functioning only as a push for release of front lid, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#970125. Gross weight of assembled watch 48.9 dwt (76.1 g). An attractive and heavy gold case with vibrant enameling color to its bird image.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, fine scratch crossing main plate through area between third and fourth wheel arbors, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and surface spotting elsewhere; dial with few fine scratches, some edge flakes with the largest at 12; fine mismatched hands, minute is plum colored, hour and seconds-hand are blue; case shows little wear, few scratches to cuvette, ding to right perimeter of rear, scattered dings to cuvette, good engraving detail, front enameling substantially intact with only some small bits of loss, the most notable of which is a portion of one of the bird's wing feathers, rear with some greater enamel losses with its most notable being one of the flowers above center; tight bow thinned at top, mock crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
